MEDIA CHANGE

For the 2009 Show, we will NOT be accepting slides or digital media for the juror's consideration.  We will be asking all particpants to submit 2 8" x 10" photographs of their painting.  This format allows for a low cost and accessible option for all artists.  And yes, it is wonderfully low tech!!!  The one painting will be sent to the juror and the other kept here for comparison to the delivered accepted art work.  We are hoping that this option will encourage many more artists to submit their works for consideration.

PRESS RELEASE

Fargo, ND.  Rose Edin (NWS, TWSA, Master NTWS) is to teach at the Plains Art Museum in June 2009 for the Red River Watercolor’s (RRWS) National Show and 20th anniversary celebration.Rose Edin, the celebrated watercolorist, instructor and author of 6 books on watercolor will be returning to Fargo in 2009 to teach the National Show Workshop.  She will also be the juror of the National Show.  Rose Edin was first invited to teach a small group of local artists in Fargo 20 years ago, the first workshop that RRWS ever held.  As part of the RRWS’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations, it was decided to invite her back as over 20 years, both parties have learned much and have much more to share.“Rose Edin's paintings capture the romance and beauty of scenes we see every day. Each image is fresh, new and original. She has a unique talent of bringing excitement to each and every moment, not only to those moments that come once in a lifetime. Edin's compositions are brimming with variety and splashes of color. Each brushstroke carries a hue that is muted but exact and carefully applied to enhance the overall image. Her light touch capture a softness that few can match.” is how her art is described on www.RoseEdin.com

Rose Edin will be teaching from her latest book entitled “Color Harmonies:  Sing with Light: due to be published this winter.  Students should expect some interesting and new approaches to the use of watercolor during this week long class.  The class will be held at the Plains Art Museum from June 8th to 12th.  The price is $275 for RRWS members and $300 for guests.  Space is Limited so early registration with payment is recommended for this popular instructor.
