This is a summary of our events.  The details are on the website where so stated in the details column.

Exhibitions and Major Events

In June 2009, our National Show will be on exhibition at the Plains Art Museum with selected works from artists around the country.  Rose Edin will be jurying the submitted works from our national membership.

8th Street Show

In August 2009, from the Wednesday the 12th and 13th, 11am to 7pm, the 8th Street Art show will once again be providing a limited number of artists the 2 day experience of selling and marketing their art at Shotwells in Fargo.  The street fair is extremely well attended.  For more information and to sign up, contact Tara Argall at 701-238-3265.  The application form can be downloaded from our Forms page.

Exhibitions

In November and December, members are invited to display 1 painting in the Atrium at Dakota Hospital on University Ave.  This is a busy venue with many people being encouraged and heartened by our artwork.

Workshop and Learning Opportunities

Our June National Show workshop with Rose Edin is full and we have a waiting list.

Our fall 2009 "Annual Art at the Lake" weekend workshop at Northern Pines Assembly at Park Rapids will be the end of September again.

Upcoming Meetings

We meet at One Oak Place, 1709 25th Ave S, Fargo in the 3rd Floor Recreation and Hobby Room on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:15 pm.  We welcome visitors.

2009 Programming Schedule

Jan 13th:  Kris Groberg, NDSU- speaking on Russian Art and the use of symbolism in our works. Feb 10th:  Valentines Collage Workshop:  Sandra Miles & Diane Harrison.  A supply list will be posted on the website. Mar 10th: Bruce Sykes, MSUM; has a fascinating presentation on the art collection in his home which has made the cover of American Style Magazine.  His insights into what collectors want will be valuable to all. April 14th:  Kim Brombly, NDSU. Hypnosis and Your Creativity.  He will talk about reaching our creative potential using different techniques. May 12th; Jane Freeman, artist Demonstration of her techniques June 9th; RRWS Workshop and Opening July 14th: Paint Out August 12 – 13th 8th St. Show August 18th; Photo shoot Scavenger hunt Sept. 8th  Fargo’s Hidden Sculptures” Tom Isern will give a presentation as the historian of local sculptures Oct. 13th  Learning how to Write a Resume, Steps to a Perfect Resume, Artists statements, Critiques Nov:10th  Annual Meeting and Decorating Christmas Ornaments with a Theme Dec. 8th  at 6h15pm Christmas Party; exchange an original hand painted card, induction of new board, Silver Brush Award
