Exhibitions and Major Events

In May, our National Show will be on exhibition at the Hjemkomst with selecte works from artists around the country.  Carolyn Lord will be jurying the submitted works from our national membership.

In August, from the Wednesday the 13th and 14th, 11am to 7pm, the 15th Annual 8th Street Art show will once again be providing a limited number of artists the 2 day experience of selling and marketing their art at Shotwells in Fargo.  The street fair is extremely well attended.  For more information and to sign up, contact Sandy Miles at 701-235-8035 

In December, members are invited to display 1 painting in the Atrium at Dakota Hospital on University Ave.  This is a busy venue with many people being encouraged and heartened by our artwork.

In 2009, we will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary!  We are planning more exhibitions, workshops and opportunities for our members to showcase their talents.

An Exciting Free Art Business Programs for RRWS Members

We are please to offer our members an opportunity to hear lectures givien by Mr Baker on success in art.  These Three lectures are by Bruce Baker and contain valuable details that will help you be even more successful with your art.

Members are invited to Ellen Jean Diederich's studio the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:15 p.m. beginning in April.   You can come to all or those that interest you most.

She heard this speaker in Philadelphia in the program called Art-up that sponsored 10 artist to exhibit at Buyers Market of American Craft  in Philadelphia "also known as Rosen",  The ten artist practiced many of these techniques.  We feel there is a ton of valuable information for anyone interested in selling or marketing their work.

April 15th
"Your Slides & The Jury" A strategy to get into better shows - This information will get you into better shows consistently, if you understand these points and put them into practice.  Many artists try to show a jury their range of talent, but that rarely works as well as a focused visual presentation.  Learn how to compose your slides to gain an advantage over other applicants.

May 20th
"Booth Design & Merchandising" For Craft and Trade Shows - Tools to make your booth function at peak performance.  Merchandising your work for maximum customer appeal.  You will attract more customers off the aisle and into your space giving you more opportunities to sell to them. 

June 17th
"Dynamic Sales & Customer Service Techniques" For Artists and Craft Makers - Designed to be a motivational tool, making it easier to sell your work at Art, Craft and Trade Shows.  The information on this CD will encourage you to take an active role in the sale and to successfully interact with your customers.  People who take this advice report sales increases from 20 to 300 percent!
 

We meet at First Congregational Church on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:15 pm.  We welcome visitors.

May 6th, 2008 Program - at the Hjemkomst 6:00pm (Note the time change!)

Presentation by Carolyn Lord, our juror on her art.  Opening reception at Hjemkomst Center.  Public invited, no admission fee.  There will be a Juror's Slide Presentation: 6—7 pm followed by a Reception:  7—8 pm.  Awards will be presented at 7:30pm.
